Workplace Life Insurance Sales Increased 9% in Q3

Workplace life insurance sales rebounded in Q3 2025, rising 9% to $691 million, helping offset a weak first quarter, according to LIMRA. Year-to-date, total workplace life insurance premiums were $3.38 billion, down 3% from 2024. Permanent life premiums grew 8% and term life 9% for the quarter, though term sales were down 4% year-to-date. In contrast, workplace disability insurance premiums fell 3% in Q3 to $620 million, with year-to-date declines of 5%. Supplemental health insurance sales dropped 7% in Q3 to $508 million and 5% year-to-date. LIMRA stressed that many workers overlook benefits, urging employers, brokers and carriers to better educate employees on the value of workplace coverage amid economic uncertainty.
