Women Struggle Saving for Retirement While Handling Finances

New research from Standard Insurance Company shows women are more likely than men to cover everyday expenses, emergency costs and debt while also trying to save for retirement. This juggling act, combined with lower average incomes and caregiving responsibilities, has created a 13-point confidence gap: only 40% of women feel they are saving enough for retirement, compared with 53% of men. Women are also more likely to carry medical debt, often related to childbirth. The study emphasizes the importance of workplace benefits — such as voluntary and disability plans — along with financial education and flexible retirement options, to help women build long-term security, boost confidence and improve workforce retention.
