US Bancorp Speeds Up Long-Planned Expansion Into New States

U.S. Bancorp is accelerating its expansion into fast-growing U.S. markets, planning to add more than 50 business-banking roles this year across Florida, Georgia, Texas and Arizona. The strategy targets commercial clients in regions where the Minneapolis-based bank has limited or no retail branch presence, with bankers working alongside its wealth-management and commercial-real-estate businesses. The expansion builds on pilot efforts in cities including Las Vegas and Dallas and is part of CEO Gunjan Kedia’s broader push to increase deposits and revenue. U.S. Bancorp has considered expanding into the Southeast for years, but the initiative is now moving faster.
