UMB Gains Approval for $2 Billion Acquisition of Heartland Financial USA

UMB Financial has secured regulatory approvals for its $2 billion acquisition of Heartland Financial USA. The two companies secured clearances for the deal from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Reserve System Board of Governors. The merger agreement was signed in April 2024 and is set to close at the end of January. The acquisition will add 107 branches to UMB's existing 90 branches. “Receiving regulatory approvals is another milestone in completing this historic acquisition," said UMB Financial Chair and CEO Mariner Kemper.
