TD Chief Operating Officer Turan To Depart

Toronto-Dominion (TD) Bank Chief Operating Officer Taylan Turan is leaving the bank after less than a year, following his role in overseeing its transformation strategy. Turan joined TD in September 2025 after serving as HSBC’s COO and helped streamline operations, expand AI capabilities and support growth initiatives. TD CEO Raymond Chun thanked him for his leadership. The bank also announced several senior leadership changes effective Sept. 4. Vlad Shpilsky will lead global technology and solutions, while Renu Gupta becomes chief strategy and commercial officer, overseeing strategy, growth, digital assets, payments, partnerships and procurement. Paul Whitehead will take on additional responsibility for global corporate affairs and enterprise AI.
