John Hancock CEO on Adding Behavioral Nudges to Life Insurance

Brooks Tingle, CEO of John Hancock, says two-thirds of clients now use the firm's Vitality Program, which rewards members for their everyday healthy activities, of whom almost 80% report that their health is similar or has improved since joining. Customers’ engagement with John Hancock used to mean little more than opening an annual invoice, but the average Vitality member uses its app more than 20 times a month. Tingle says that has helped John Hancock outgrow its industry almost every quarter for the past seven years.
