Power finds that financial advisors generally have strong relationships with life insurance and annuity providers, but many remain frustrated by outdated systems and limited digital tools. While satisfaction scores for these distribution partners are relatively high compared with other areas of financial services, advisors say inefficient processes, weak self-service capabilities and poor portal usability often make interactions time-consuming. Ease of doing business is a key factor in loyalty, with significantly higher satisfaction when providers are simple to work with. The study also shows growing demand for life insurance and annuities as advisors focus more on longevity risk and retirement protection strategies.
