Early-Career Advisors Want Something Unexpected: An Office

Future financial advisers want more in-person learning, mentorship and human connection than many firms may expect, according to a survey from FinServ Foundation and FP Transitions. The survey found that 96% of students in adviser programs want to help people reach life goals, up from 72% a year earlier. Respondents also emphasized internships, shadowing and early-career opportunities, with 93% calling mentor shadowing very important or essential. “They want to be in the office, they want mentorship, and they want to work with people,” said Elise Rogers of FP Transitions.
