Americans Don't Know Much About Social Security, Alllianz Survey Finds

A majority of U.S. investors don’t know much about Social Security or how they can use it to maximize their retirement income, according to a survey by Allianz Life. Only 22% of investors talk to their advisors about their concerns, and just 44% of Americans say they have a plan for how they will take Social Security in retirement. Most Americans (60%) would like to talk with a financial professional about their concerns regarding the survival of Social Security and whether it will be available throughout the entirety of their retirement, Allianz said.
