Women Advisors Are at a Plateau

Women’s representation in financial advisory roles has plateaued at around 26%, according to data from AdvizorPro, despite decades of earlier growth. While younger cohorts show higher female participation, long-tenured, male-dominated groups and slow turnover continue to shape overall demographics, limiting further progress. Experts say the issue goes beyond recruitment, pointing to structural barriers such as limited flexibility, lack of advancement opportunities, cultural biases and unequal access to capital. Women are also less represented in independent advisory firms and less likely to “break away” due to risk and support concerns.
