The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has sent its long-anticipated e-delivery rule to the White House for final regulatory review, signaling that a proposal to make digital delivery the default for investment fund disclosures is nearing release. The initiative, supported by SEC Chair Paul Atkins, would modernize investor communications by allowing firms to use technology-neutral digital formats instead of traditional paper mail, while still permitting investors to opt out. Industry groups have long pushed for the change, arguing it could save hundreds of millions of dollars annually and better match investor preferences.
