Uncertainty Holding Americans Back Financially, U.S. Bank Says

A new U.S. Bank report found a growing financial confidence crisis among Americans. Despite making responsible choices like budgeting, saving and cutting back on spending, over half of the 5,000 surveyed feel powerless against economic forces beyond their control. Many now doubt whether they’ll achieve traditional milestones like homeownership, starting a family or retiring comfortably — especially younger generations like Gen Z and millennials, who are increasingly scaling back life goals due to affordability concerns. Still, those working with financial planners report significantly more confidence.
