5 Things to Know Before You Nominate a 2026 BISA Rising Star
by: BISA Staff
Do you know an emerging leader who’s helping shape a more inclusive future for financial services? Now’s your chance to recognize their impact by nominating them for the 2026 BISA Rising Stars Program!
According to Rising Stars Subcommittee Chair Logan Hickman, ChFC, CLU, this program is an invaluable opportunity: “The Rising Stars Program is a wonderful opportunity to provide recognition, visibility and connection to up-and-comers in our industry,” Hickman shared. “Personally, being a Rising Star (class of 2023) helped me meet so many people outside my firm. Many of the people I’ve met are now close friends and mentors and that’s due to the connection that’s fostered through the Rising Stars Program.”
This two-year BISA-sponsored recognition and leadership development program honors professionals who demonstrate a commitment to advancing representation, inclusion and community impact across our industry. Through mentorship, networking and collaborative projects, Rising Stars gain the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, grow as leaders and connect with peers and thought leaders who share their passion for progress.
5 Things to Know Before You Nominate
1. Think about who embodies BISA’s values
Nominees should reflect the spirit of leadership, inclusion and innovation that defines the Rising Stars community. Consider individuals who not only excel in their roles, but also uplift others, champion new ideas and model the collaborative values that strengthen our industry.
2. Nominees should be early on in their financial services career and employed at a BISA member organization
Candidates must have fewer than 10 years of experience in financial services and be employed by a BISA member organization in good standing throughout the program.
3. Only one nominee per organization will be considered
If multiple applications are submitted from the same BISA member company, the nominating organization will be asked to identify one candidate to move forward — so coordinate internally before submitting.
4. Selected Rising Stars must commit to active participation
Selected participants will engage in both virtual and in-person events, including meetings at the 2026 and 2027 BISA Annual Conferences as well as an August in-person gathering. Each Rising Star also contributes to a collaborative capstone project presented during the August in-person gathering.
5. Understand the benefits of being a Rising Star
Rising Stars receive complimentary conference attendance and lodging, access to the BISA Mentorship Program and opportunities for professional visibility and leadership development — plus lifetime inclusion in the Rising Stars Alumni Roster.
