The Future of Retirement Planning Is Female

Women face steeper retirement planning challenges than men due to longer lifespans, lower average lifetime earnings and career breaks for caregiving, leaving many less confident about their financial futures. LIMRA’s 2025 Retirement Investors Survey found that only 67% of women feel confident about retirement, compared with 76% of men. Jean Chatzky, founder of HerMoney, said these gaps make women more vulnerable later in life. Yet a massive opportunity lies ahead: women are expected to inherit $30 trillion by 2030. Financial advisors can better serve women by offering clarity, partnership and trust and by focusing on personalized advice, lifetime income solutions and inclusivity.
