Stock Funds Rose 14.6% in 2025

In 2025, U.S. stock mutual funds and exchange-traded funds gained an average of 14.6%, powered largely by AI-related technology stocks, though growth has slowed from 21% in 2023 and 17.4% in 2024. International stock funds outperformed with a 29.8% rise, aided by tariff volatility, while bond funds gained 7.3% amid three Federal Reserve rate cuts. Despite U.S. stock gains, investors withdrew $391.6 billion from domestic funds, favoring international stocks and bonds.
