SEC Enforcement Chief Gurbir Grewal Plans Mid-October Exit

Gurbir Grewal, top enforcer at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC), plans to step down soon from his position. During his tenure, the SEC authorized more than 2,400 enforcement actions, leading to more than $20 billion in disgorgement, prejudgment interest and civil penalties. Sanjay Wadhwa, the enforcement division’s deputy director, will serve as acting director, the SEC said.
