Inside Citigroup’s Most Mysterious Business

Citi Services, one of five lines of business at Citigroup, makes up half of Citi’s total profit and is crucial to Chief Executive Jane Fraser’s turnaround plan, yet not many people know about it. Citi Services on Tuesday hosted investors for a full day of presentations. The day, conceived by Citi investor-relations head Jenn Landis, reintroduced to Wall Street a collection of functions the unit is responsible for. Essentially, it helps big international clients manage and move cash globally, handling payments for goods, services and salaries; processing capital flows and investments by funds and providing cash at key junctures of supply chains.
