How Financial Advisors Are Helping Clients Through the Virus Crisis

The coronavirus has had severe impacts on financial markets, but advisors have stepped in to guide their clients and ease their financial concerns. Susan Kaplan, registered investment advisor in Newton, Mass., says she has been keeping her clients from making hasty decisions, like buying now that prices are attractive. Kaplan says she would rather her clients wait for more stability. A general piece of advice sees advisors recommending patient as the market continues to fluctuate. Kristin McKenna, wealth advisor at Darrow Wealth Management, said, "Most of our clients are comfortable staying the course and know that is the best thing they can do." She adds that she has been in close contact with clients in deeply impacted industries and those near retirement. McKenna says planning becomes especially important for these individuals.
