Do Sales Assistants Help Advisors Do More Financial Planning?

Kehrer Group research shows that financial planning benefits clients, advisors and institutions, yet many bank-based advisors have been slow to adopt it, often citing the time required. To address this, some firms provide sales assistants to handle administrative tasks. However, data from 3,000 advisors indicates that having a sales assistant does not significantly increase overall planning productivity or client plan penetration. Sales assistants do help advisors initiate more new planning relationships, but sustained engagement remains limited.
