Democrats Ask GAO To Study Diversity Among Asset Managers

A group of lawmakers, led by U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D) of California, the chair of the House Financial Services Committee, and U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D) of New Jersey, asked the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) to conduct a study on diversity among asset managers. In a letter, the lawmakers asked that the GAO further study the breakdown of women- and-minority-owned asset management firms and how federal entities could increase opportunities for women and people of color in the field.
