Cetera Hires Former eMoney CEO as COO

Cetera Financial Group has appointed Ed O’Brien, former CEO of eMoney Advisor, as chief operating officer, effective May. In this role, he will oversee technology, trading and operations, with a focus on boosting advisor productivity and using platform capabilities — especially AI — to drive client growth and retention. O’Brien succeeds Tom Gooley, who is retiring after helping scale the firm’s operations. With experience at Fidelity Investments, O’Brien is expected to help transform Cetera’s platform into a growth engine as the firm supports its network of advisors and manages hundreds of billions in assets.
