BlackRock Executive Seen as Leading CEO Contender To Leave Firm

BlackRock executive Mark Wiedman is leaving the asset manager, say sources. Wiedman was most recently head of BlackRock’s global client business and viewed as one of the top candidates to succeed Chief Executive Larry Fink when he retires. Over more than two decades at BlackRock, Wiedman led the integration of Barclays Global Investors and the iShares exchange-traded fund business after BlackRock acquired them in 2009. Remaining executives seen as potential successors to Fink include CFO Martin Small and COO Rob Goldstein.
