A new Advisor Authority study from the Nationwide Retirement Institute reveals Gen Z’s financial struggles and evolving money habits. Four in 10 worry about affording monthly bills, 46% prioritize debt repayment and 77% fear a recession. “As the leader of the Nationwide Retirement Institute and a mother of two Gen Z daughters, I see both the promise and the pressure this generation is facing,” said Senior Vice President Kristi Rodriguez. Many use digital wallets and peer-to-peer apps, but lack strategies to protect assets. Rodriguez stressed that advisors must “meet them where they are” and help balance short-term pressures with long-term retirement planning.
