Allison Herren Lee Named Acting SEC Chair
Allison Herren Lee has been named acting chair of the SEC by President Joe Biden. Lee has served as an SEC commissioner since 2019. Biden has nominated Gary Gensler, the former chair of the CFTC, to serve as SEC chair, but that nomination must first be approved by the Senate. Former Chair Jay Clayton departed in late December, and was replaced on an acting basis by Elad L. Roisman.
