AI Agents Arrive at Citi

Citigroup is piloting AI agents within its proprietary Citi Stylus Workspaces platform, enabling users to complete complex tasks across multiple internal systems with a single prompt. These “agentic” capabilities allow AI to chain together discrete actions, such as researching a client, compiling profiles from public and internal data and translating results, without repeated human intervention. Citi’s platform leverages models including Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude. The initial pilot involves 5,000 users over four to six weeks, with strict cost limits to manage token usage.
