Wells Fargo Hires Ex-JPMorgan Investment-Bank Boss Fernando Rivas

Wells Fargo is hiring the former JPMorgan Chase executive Fernando Rivas, in a bid to build out its relatively small Wall Street businesses. Rivas will run Wells Fargo’s corporate and investment bank alongside Jon Weiss, another JPMorgan veteran. JPMorgan said last year that Rivas would leave after nearly three decades there, most recently as head of North American investment banking. Wells Fargo has over the past few years attempted to expand its dealmaking and trading operation under Chief Executive Charlie Scharf, going after big-name hires.
