Truist Taps Microsoft Alum as AI Chief

Truist has appointed Microsoft veteran Pascal Belaud as its first chief AI and data officer. Belaud will lead the bank’s AI, data and advanced automation strategy, reporting to CIO Steve Hagerman. During his 27-year tenure at Microsoft, Belaud held leadership roles across AI, analytics, cloud and machine learning. Truist aims to leverage AI to enhance customer and employee experiences, improve operational efficiency and drive revenue growth. Belaud described the role as “the mission of a lifetime” to strategically harness AI for transformative impact.
