There Are Now More ETFs in the US Than Individual Stocks

The U.S. exchange-traded fund (ETF) market now includes more than 4,300 funds, outnumbering listed stocks for the first time. While ETFs have lowered costs and broadened access to investing, the sheer volume has created confusion and “choice overload” for investors, pushing many toward professional advice.
