American Banker's 2026 Most Powerful Women in Banking rankings highlight leaders responding through technology investment, product innovation, operational improvements and new approaches to risk. Citi CEO Jane Fraser tops the Banking ranking for a sixth consecutive year, while U.S. Bank CEO Gunjan Kedia ranked second. JPMorganChase executives occupy three of the top five spots. Mary Callahan Erdoes leads the Finance ranking, while Christiana Riley tops Women to Watch. The rankings also recognize teams and emerging leaders, with growing attention to AI, digital assets, blockchain and cybersecurity.
