TD Hires COO and New General Counsel Amid Executive Departures

Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) announced major leadership changes as two senior executives prepare to depart. HSBC’s Taylan Turan will join TD on Sept. 29 as chief operating officer and senior executive vice president, relocating to Toronto to report directly to CEO Raymond Chun. Turan previously led HSBC’s global retail banking and wealth integration. Simon Fish, formerly Bank of Montreal’s general counsel, will take over that role at TD on Sept. 15. The changes follow the retirement of Christine Morris after nearly 40 years and the departure of current general counsel Jane Langford. TD also promoted Paul Whitehead to support Turan.
