Shutdown Seen Delaying Final SEC Investment Advice Rule Until Summer

The government shutdown increased the likelihood that the SEC's best-interest regulation for advisers and broker-dealers will be delayed until the summer, say insiders. In September, sources said a vote to adopt the rule could be scheduled in early 2019. Now, it might not be adopted until the third quarter, said the sources, perhaps even as late as September.
