SEC Decision Allows Advisors to Appeal FINRA Statutory Disqualifications
The SEC has ruled that advisors have the ability to file appeals after being statutorily disqualified by FINRA. Previously, advisors had to find a company willing to file an appeal with the SEC on their behalf. In its ruling, the SEC said many firms would decline to take up cases for advisors, which "left the advisor with zero avenue for due process."
