Life Insurance Talk Gap Leaves Families Financially Exposed

Lincoln Financial research found that 78% of families have not had an in-depth conversation about life insurance, creating gaps between what parents have planned and what adult children believe is in place. Sixty percent of adult children assume their parents have life insurance, compared with 44% of parents who say they do. Similar gaps exist around retirement income, healthcare costs and inheritance planning. The research suggests advisors can help families document decisions, clarify coverage and align expectations.
