Is the Market Squeezing the 4% Rule? Some Advisors Say Yes

More than a third of financial advisors surveyed earlier this year believe it is time to rethink the 4% rule as a safe-withdrawal guide for those in retirement, according to a recent survey by Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America and RetireOne. About 97% of respondents were worried about the impact of inflation on retirement portfolios, 85% believed Social Security benefits were insufficient and 63% said employer-provided retirement benefits were also inadequate.
