First Citizens Ending Silicon Valley Bank Name After Three Years

First Citizens BancShares will retire the Silicon Valley Bank name three years after acquiring the failed lender in 2023. The division will be rebranded into two units — First Citizens Innovation Banking and First Citizens Fund Banking — while other acquired businesses will also adopt the First Citizens brand. CEO Frank Holding Jr. said the move reflects a shift toward a unified identity and commitment to the innovation economy.
