FINRA Launches Crypto Course for Brokers

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is launching a new crypto-focused education program to help brokerage firms and their representatives better understand the sector. The initiative, debuting in October, will feature interactive online courses covering blockchain operations, cryptoassets, markets and common fraud schemes, along with an in-person program offered in partnership with Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Through its Crypto Hub, FINRA aims to expand industry knowledge, support compliance efforts and combat crypto-related fraud. Greg Ruppert, executive vice-president of member supervision, said the effort reflects FINRA’s commitment to helping firms navigate the opportunities and risks of crypto.
