Financial Confidence Falls to a 15-Year Low

Financial confidence among U.S. workers has fallen to its lowest level in Guardian’s 15-year survey, with only 30% rating their financial health as excellent or very good. Just 13% feel fully on track for their desired retirement lifestyle, while half cite money as their top source of stress. Retirement concerns include insufficient savings, income uncertainty and fears that savings will run out. “Retirement isn’t the end of the story, but the beginning of a new chapter,” Erin Culek, head of financial protection and retirement solutions at Guardian, said in a report on the survey's findings. “As people live longer, fuller lives, financial planning shouldn’t just be about saving. It should help them feel confident, flexible and free to enjoy whatever comes next.”
