Financial Advisors Hone Their Focus on ESG Strategies

A new survey from PGIM Investments found 54 percent of financial advisors expect to boost allocations to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investments over the next three years, versus 33 percent planning to keep exposure levels as is, 2 percent intending to lower exposure, and 11 percent not planning any ESG investments. Just 14 percent of advisors said they were very familiar with ESG products, while 52 percent said they are somewhat familiar, 24 percent said they had only heard about ESG, and 10 percent said they are totally unfamiliar. The rush into the ESG space has left some advisors reluctant to adopt a herd mentality, with advisors with more years of experience generally more hesitant to invest in ESG.
