Expect an E-Delivery Rule Soon, Says SEC Chair

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins said the agency will soon propose a rule allowing electronic delivery of investor documents, replacing the current paper-heavy system. Speaking at an industry event, Atkins said that the change is overdue, noting that materials like mutual fund prospectuses are often discarded and create unnecessary costs, while investors would still have the option to request paper copies. The proposal aligns with broader efforts to modernize regulations.
