CFP Board's July Exam-Takers Volume Breaks Records

In July, a record 3,214 candidates took the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam, the highest for that testing window, with 64% passing. This surpassed last July’s 2,999 test-takers. The March and November windows saw 3,854 and 3,755 candidates, with 65% and 62% passing, respectively. Among July examinees, 38% aimed to demonstrate job expertise, 32% to highlight fiduciary status and 73% were under 40. CFP Board Chief Executive Officer Kevin Keller said the growth reflects strong momentum for certification.
