Blackstone To Offer Private Investments in Empower 401(k)s

Blackstone is partnering with retirement-plan administrator Empower to offer private-market investments to everyday 401(k) investors. Through Empower’s private market investment partnership program, customers will access Blackstone’s funds via collective trusts. The initiative aims to broaden access to alternative investments for millions of Americans, using risk-appropriate structures and advisory support. The effort builds on Blackstone’s retirement-focused team, created in 2025, and strategic alliances with Wellington Management and Vanguard to develop multiasset products. Empower manages about $2 trillion in assets for over 19 million participants, and previously partnered with Apollo and Franklin Templeton to introduce private assets to retirement portfolios.
