Annuity Sales on Track To Set New Record in 2024

The first nine months of 2024 saw total annuity sales increase by 23% to $331.2 billion, putting them on pace for another record-breaking year. Total U.S. annuity sales reached a record-high $385.4 billion in 2023, increasing 23% year on year, according to LIMRA data. Insurers last year paid out a record $104 billion in annuity benefits, a nearly 10% increase from 2022.
