SEC Acting Chair Lee Proposes Mandating Asset Manager Disclosures on Diversity

SEC Acting Chair Allison Herren Lee suggested Thursday that regulators should consider mandatory disclosures related to asset managers' diversity policies, given the low participation in a voluntary program requesting the information. Lee, in remarks during a keynote speech at an industry event, said that while the SEC had put a "voluntary diversity self-assessment" in place for asset managers, "the submission rates on that have been for the most part disappointing."
