BISA Voices Support of AAPI Community
by: BISA Staff
Today, we want to express the sadness and outrage against recent attacks in the Atlanta area, which took the lives of eight people, six of whom were women of Asian descent.
These tragic and senseless incidents come in the context of a broader, deeply disturbing trend of anti-Asian racism and violence that we’ve seen around the country, stemming from hurtful and misleading rhetoric on COVID-19.
To our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) members, clients, colleagues and staff, we want to reaffirm our unwavering support. We must stand together in our commitment to zero tolerance for racism, bigotry or hate of any kind. These tragic events reinforce the urgency of actions we are taking across the board to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within our financial industry and BISA community.
We encourage all those who can to take action. If you experience or witness anti-Asian hate crimes or harassment, report them at https://stopaapihate.org/.
Together, we hope to raise awareness and have open conversations about how we can best support Asians in America and around the globe during these challenging times.
Sincerely,
Frank Consalo Jeff Hartney
