Advisors Are Missing the Boat on ESG: Cerulli

A study from Cerulli found that advisors do not realize how strongly clients are interested in ESG strategies. The study points to a survey of advisors that found 58 percent of respondents said a lack of investor demand was a significant factor that stopped them from adopting ESG strategies. Cerulli also says many advisors believe that demand for ESG strategies among clients is a non-issue. However, a Cerulli survey of U.S. retail investors reveals that 44 percent of respondents would prefer to invest in an environmental or socially responsible manner.
